ROCK SPRINGS – Desert View Elementary School was vandalized Sunday, June 30 with extensive damage reported. Rock Springs Police Department confirmed two suspects were in custody earlier this week.
School District No.1 Chairman Justin Spicer referred comments to new Superintendent Mathew Neal, who could not be reached over the weekend.
Sources who wished to remain unnamed said the alleged suspects accessed the building by breaking windows with rocks and vandalized the school. The alleged suspects destroyed computers and boards, left hot irons on the carpet, threw paint and generally trashed the building. The school alarm was triggered during the vandalism spree.
New details will be published as they are released.
