FUNNEL CLOUD: We received these photos of a funnel cloud in the Red Desert Area from Delman Willett. He described the funnel cloud touching down for a moment before lifting off again. “It was at 3:30 on the North side of I80 between Tipton road and Red Desert Road touched down on Tipton Butte. That butte in the back ground is Tipton Butte.”
EXPANDED WARNING AREA: The national weather service in riverton has issued a flash flood warning for Central Sweetwater County until 6:30 pm.
According to the NWS office in Riverton at 3:29 pm doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing heavy rain in rock springs. up to one half inch of rain has already fallen on saturated ground. flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Rock springs…Pilot Butte and Reliance.
Additional rainfall amounts of one half inch to one inch are possible in the warned area.
