Fast 5 Interviews: Cindy Bailey

Fast 5 Interviews: Cindy Bailey

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

My name is Cindy Bailey. My husband Greg and I own the McDonald’s Restaurants in Sweetwater County – 2 in Rock Springs and 1 in Green River. I am the very proud mom of two women, Heather Bailey Aguilar and Sarah Bailey and a gramma to 3 boys, Tyson, Dominic and Braydon.

I am currently finishing my term as the Immediate Past President of the Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors in Salt Lake City. I served a 2 year term as the President of the Board of Directors prior to this year. I am currently serving as the Vice President of the WWCC Foundation Board, our local 2-yr community college Foundation; President-Elect for the Rock Springs Kiwanis Club; active in our local chambers and the treasurer of International Days, Inc which is a one day festival in July celebrating the founding of Rock Springs by 56 nationalities.

My motto for my personal life and also for my business has always been that you must give back and I am always honored when I am able to do just that.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN SWEETWATER COUNTY?

I followed my husband here in January 1996 to follow our dream of owning our own McDonald’s. We came from Tucson, Arizona. I was born in Phoenix where I spent my first 8 years before moving to Tucson, where I lived until I moved to Rock Springs.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO OR SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT YOU?

I don’t have as many hobbies as I used to, but I’m willing to give anything new a try. I love to read mysteries and historical novels. I actually love my volunteer work. I’m a shoe-aholic, and collect pink depression glassware – and some would say teapots, but I have had to stop with the teapots since I have so many now!

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST PART OF LIVING IN SWEETWATER COUNTY?

I absolutely love Sweetwater County because of the incredible people that live here. They are so willing to dig in and help in good times and bad even if they don’t know you. I have been extremely blessed with great neighbors, friends and friends who have become family. I love the high desert since I just traded low desert for high desert. The wildlife and the changing of the season still “knocks my socks off” – both are so beautiful.

WHAT IS ONE TIP OR LIFE LESSON YOU HAVE LEARNED THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO SHARE?

If I had to share one tip that rules my life it is to treat others like you would like to be treated – that bible verse has always had my back as I have moved through this thing called life. I also learned that a positive attitude, no matter the circumstance, will help you through thick or thin and to stay strong for those around you.
