ROCK SPRINGS – Last Sunday, August 30th, the Memorial Hospital Foundation held their annual MHSC Golf Classic at Rolling Green Country Club in Green River where they raised $9,800. The Golf Tournament was held to raise awareness of the Memorial Hospital Foundation as well as to raise money for the Foundation’s Greatest Needs Fund. “We ended up with 23 teams which was more than we initially anticipated. It was great to see so many people interested in our tournament and want to play golf in support of the Foundation,” noted Foundation Director Tiffany Grosvenor Marshall.
Before the tournament started, Foundation Board President Al Harris took advantage of the rainy weather to address the golfers.

A few of the initiatives that the Foundation has executed is purchasing long distance pagers for patients and families who may have a long wait in a waiting room, such as the Emergency Department and Same Day Surgery. With these pagers, the patient or their family can go to the cafeteria or walk around and be notified when the doctor is ready for them. Another initiative that the Foundation has funded is mobile infusion pumps for patients. “The infusion pumps are very important because it allows patients to receive the treatment they need without having to spend the day at the hospital,” Mr. Harris explained while adding “these pumps are mobile so that patients can receive their treatments while they are able to continue on with their day to day activities.”
The MHSC Golf Classic raised $9,800 from Sponsors, donations, and participants.
“We were hoping to raise about $7,000 so seeing that we exceeded our goal just goes to show that the golfers had fun with our various activities and that our Sponsors really support the Foundation and the goals we are working to accomplish” – Tiffany Grosvenor Marshall.
The money raised goes directly in the Greatest Needs Fund set up by the Memorial Hospital Foundation, which will assist the Memorial Hospital in providing the highest quality of care through purchasing equipment and providing new programs and services. The goal of this particular fund is to ensure every patient in Sweetwater County receives the best treatment available.
