ROCK SPRINGS — According to Rock Springs Police Chief Dwane Pacheco, law enforcement was dispatched to a local park in reference to potential bomb-making materials found by a Parks and Rec clean-up crew.
On Sunday, October 11, 2015 at approximately 9:32 a.m. members of the Rock Springs Parks and Rec Department were conducting clean-up at Steven’s Park. The Park is located at 901 West Street which is located a few blocks South of Zoobeck’s.  The clean-up crew located what they believed could be bomb making materials or an actual bomb. Â
Officers of the Rock Springs Police Department responded and found several suspicious items including bullets, engine starting fluid and other materials. Â
The Sweetwater County Bomb Squad was called out and the Rock Springs Fire Department and medics were placed on standby. Â
The investigation is continuing. Â
