Albany County Volunteers Surpass the $475,000 Mark in Fundraising, Set New CJC Fund Drive Record; More than 60 volunteers raise money towards UW student-athlete support

LARAMIE – The University of Wyoming’s Cowboy Joe Club announced Thursday that Albany County volunteers raised over $475,000 in just one week towards educational and operational costs of UW student-athletes. This total eclipses last year’s money raised by more than $55,000 and sets a new Albany County Fund Drive record.

“To surpass the $475,000 mark in Albany County this early in the year is an outstanding feat,” Assistant Athletic Director for Development Tim Collins said. “With the State of Wyoming currently matching CJC memberships this fund drive has made a tremendous impact on UW Athletics. We can’t thank the volunteers and donors enough for setting the pace for upcoming fund drives in the state. There is no doubt that we should reach the $600,000 mark in annual donations in Albany County in 2015.”

The Cowboy Joe Club continued the 110% Campaign asking donors to increase their 2014 gift by at least 10%.  Over 200 Albany County donors fulfilled the request during the blitz.  The blitz also generated 79 new members for the club.

Cindy Mullen, who brought in seventeen new members and raised more than $32,000 in cash and pledges, was named the drive’s best fundraiser and was awarded a road trip with the Cowboy Football team. Other notable volunteers included Dr. Rod Chisholm, who received the most money in cash receipts with $24,000.  Todd Forry, who recruited four new members, was named “Rookie of the Year”.  In the team competition, Cowboy Joe Club board member Mike Bott was the captain of the winning team this year.

The 2015 Albany County Fund Drive lasted one week and featured more than 60 volunteers who went out in the Laramie community and solicited new memberships, renewals, and increases to Cowboy Joe Club donations.

With Albany County now complete, the Cowboy Joe Club looks to Natrona County, where their fund drive will conclude on February 17th. If you are interested in joining the Cowboy Joe Club for 2015, please call the Cowboy Joe Club office at (307) 766-6242 or visit www.cowboyjoeclub.com.
