Amazon Warehouse May Make Rock Springs its Home

Amazon officials announced their plans to locate one of its warehouses in Sweetwater County.

Company officials confirmed the rumors this week that they are interested in relocating to Rock Springs. They are currently looking at the old Halliburton property as the relocation site. The Halliburton facility is one of many vacant industrial properties listed on the Sweetwater Economic Development Coalition’s website. Many of the other properties listed on the site are also former oil and gas companies.

The former Halliburton property is around 226,000 square feet and includes three buildings, so it may not be a surprise why the facility would be a prime location for a manufacturing or warehouse-type operation.

Of course, Sweetwater County officials are doing everything they can to support the company moving here.

We are so excited to see Amazon moving to Sweetwater County. It is just the kind of economic development we were looking for to provide stable and good-paying jobs to Sweetwater residents.
