ROCK SPRINGS– Every year at The Sweetwater County Fair there are contests to show off your baking and creativity skills. Each contest has different rules and judges so be sure to at least enter in one!
These contests are held on the McDonald’s Family Fun Stage in the Exhibit Hall. If you aren’t a great baker, you can always stop by and see what sweet treats Sweetwater County residents have to offer and maybe even try a bite!
Commissioner’s Pie Contest
On Thursday, August 2 at 7:00 p.m. the Commissioners will be judging pies so it’s time to pull out the rolling pin and your best pie recipe!
The Sweetwater County Board of Commissioners will spend the evening at The Sweetwater County Fair and a highlight of their events will be judging the Commissioner’s Pie Contest.
Commissioners will judge local pie entries based on their taste and appearance. Winners will receive awards and bragging rights for the “Best Pie in Sweetwater County.” It’s simple, just bring your entry to the Exhibit Hall

Mayor’s Cake Contest
The final night of culinary contests will be Friday, August 4. At 7:00 p.m. the mayors from Sweetwater County will be judging cakes. Think you have the best cake around? Prove it!
Enter the annual Mayor’s Cake Contest during The Sweetwater County Fair. The Mayors of Rock Springs, Green River, Bairoil, Wamsutter, and Granger will be invited to judge the event and certainly have discerning taste.
Any shape and any flavor is welcome but the competition is stiff so make sure you bring your best. Entries will be accepted starting at 6:30 p.m.
