Bitter Sweet Bombshells Prepare for Final Home Bout!

Bitter Sweet Bombshells Prepare for Final Home Bout!

Sweetwater County’s first and only Roller Derby Team, the Bitter Sweet Bombshells, will be hosting their last home bout of the season against the Rawlins Pen-Up Girlz, out of Rawlins, Wyoming. This is the second time the Bombshells will face the Rawlins team. Last season the Bombshells went 0-1 against the Rawlins team, after coming just within reach of winning the bout. You can be sure the Bombshells will be attacking this game with serious grit!

The Bout, Rockin’ & Rollin’, will take place on Saturday, September 10th at 6 pm at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center. If you’ve never seen the fast paced, excitement packed sport of Roller Derby, then this is your chance! We host our bouts in a family friendly environment with concessions and games. Half of the ticket proceeds will benefit Climb Wyoming.

About the Bitter Sweet Bombshells

The Bitter Sweet Bombshells are Sweetwater County’s first women’s flat track roller derby team. The team was founded in April of 2013 by Cara (Caraxe) Kelsey, and Miranda (MirDuh) Samsel. Caraxe and MirDuh are former members of the Naughty Pines Derby Dames roller derby team in Laramie.

The Bitter Sweet Bombshells 3rd season began on May 7th, 2016, in Jackson, Wyoming. Their first home bout of the season and first win of the season occurred on June 4th against the Wreckin’ Roller Rebels, out of Denver, CO. Since then, the Bombshells have won against Heart Mountain Wreck on Wheels both at home and at the WyoCup. The Bombshells win-loss record is 3-3 for the season.

The Bitter Sweet Bombshells have spent three years becoming an active part of the Sweetwater County community, volunteering at a multitude of events. The Bombshells are always looking for additional ways to become involved in the community. If your organization is looking for volunteers to help with your event, contact the Bombshells!!!

As of July 2016, the Bombshells have contributed over $7000 (just from ticket sales!) to Sweetwater County organizations! Help us continue our mission in supporting local organizations by joining us at one of our two remaining home bouts this season!
