Body Recovered at Flaming Gorge Sunday Afternoon

SWEETWATER COUNTY – On early Sunday afternoon, divers working beneath the ice were able to recover the body of a Utah woman lost in Flaming Gorge.

Sweetwater Sheriff Mike Lowell said divers and support personnel from the Sweetwater Dive Team and the Green River Fire Department Ice Rescue Team located and recovered the body of Rebecca Weston, 59, of Plain City, Utah, at about 1:07 p.m. in about 100 feet of water some 500 yards from the Anvil Draw boat dock.

On Saturday, Mrs. Weston and three family members were in a tracked all-terrain vehicle on an ice fishing outing when the ATV went through the ice. The others were able to escape.

Lowell said additional information will be released on Monday.
