Bond forfeited in illegal garbage dumping case

Detention deputies, ICSP inmates, and County Road & Bridge workers cleaning up the illegal dump site discovered south of Rock Springs in November of last year.

ROCK SPRINGS – A Rock Springs man cited for littering as the result of a Sheriff’s Office investigation of an illegal dump site has forfeited a $220 bond in Circuit Court in Rock Springs, Sweetwater County Sheriff Rich Haskell said today.

In November of 2013, an illegal dump site off the Little Bitter Creek Road south of Rock Springs was reported to the Sheriff’s Office via its Facebook page. The household garbage – 26 bags of it – was cleaned up and hauled away by a crew of sheriff’s deputies, inmates of the Inmate Community Service Program (ICSP), and Sweetwater County Road & Bridge workers.

All 26 bags of garbage were searched for evidence of those responsible, which led Deputy Sheriff Steve Paladino to Nicholas L. White, 23. White was questioned by Paladino, who cited him for littering on November 16.  The $220 bond was forfeited in December.
