Flaming Gorge Classic Opens Thursday

GREEN RIVER – One of the biggest and longest running basketball tournaments in Wyoming will add to its legacy as the Flaming Gorge Tournament opens Thursday.

After opening the season 3-0 and winning the Bridger Valley Tournament both the Green River Wolves and Lady Wolves will be looking to hold home court. The Wolves will play twice on Thursday opening with Pinedale at 11:15 a.m at Green River High School. Pinedale also had a strong opening weekend going 2-1. The Wolves return to the court at 6 p.m. as they face Grace, Idaho.

The Lady Wolves only play once on Thursday as they open with Rawlins at 4:20 p.m. at GRHS. Rawlins went 1-2 to open the season.

After going 2-1 in Riverton and moving into the top five in the rankings, the Rock Springs Tigers will see a little out-of-state competition as they are set to open with North Summit Utah at 4:20 p.m. at Rock Springs High School. They will be followed by the Lady Tigers who are scheduled to face Worland at 6 p.m. Rock Springs opened the season perfect in Riverton while Worland enters 0-1 on the season,
