WHP: Speed a Factor In Interstate 80 Crash that Sent Two People To Hospital

UPDATE 3:30 p.m. — According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol speed was a factor in the one-vehicle accident that occurred this morning. According to officials the driver of  vehicle swerved off the road for no apparent reason striking the median cable before drifting back across both east bound lanes and rolling on the other side of the interstate.

The investigation is ongoing and the investigating trooper expected that citations may be issued in the case.

SWEETWATER COUNTY — Two people were transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after an accident on Interstate 80 today involving a Utah plated SUV.

According to Rock Springs Fire Chief Jim Wamsley the crash was reported around 10:40 a.m. and was initially reported at the 102 Mile Marker. RSFD responded with two apparatus. The crash scene was located at at mile post 100.

Both occupants were transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County by Sweetwater Medics.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is still on scene and we expect more info as it becomes available.
