Contract for Fourth of July Fireworks Show on Hold

ROCK SPRINGS – The July 4th fireworks show is on hold after the Rock Springs City Council tabled the annual contract on Tuesday night.

After unanimously voting to table the contract, Rock Springs Mayor Carl Demshar gave a reason for the action. He said the city is currently looking at a plan to move the annual fireworks show.

Currently, the show takes place north of Rock Springs near the Sweetwater Events Complex. If the city decides to make the move, it would take place at Western Wyoming Community College. Demshar said several years ago the college had a fireworks show to celebrate 50 years which was well done and well received by the community. He also noted the college is more of a central location.

As they continue to investigate the move, Demshar explained they want to make sure that any change of location is reflected in the contract.
