CHEYENNE — After searching for a dog that was reportedly ejected from a vehicle during a wreck this morning near Cheyenne, the dog was later found at the local shelter.

According to a social media post from the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, on April 14 at about 7:30 a.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol requested the assistance of Cheyenne Animal Control near milepost 5 on I-25.

A dog that had reportedly been ejected from a vehicle during a rollover accident wasn’t able to be found. Animal Control Officers arrived on the scene and immediately began searching for the missing and possibly injured dog named Chulu.

The dog’s footprints in the snow led officers to believe that Chulu had been picked up by someone on the side of the highway, according to the post.

“Fortunately, the kind strangers took him to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter,” the post states.

Animal Control Officers coordinated the successful return of Chulu to the owner who was not injured in the rollover. He was delighted to learn that Chulu was okay and also hadn’t suffered any injuries during the accident.

What a lucky dog and owner! We’re glad they are both safe and back together.
