EDEN – An upcoming “field day” in Eden will provide Wyoming hay producers with information designed to help them improve the quality and quantity of their forage crops.
The Field Day is an all-day event which will take place on Thursday, July 10 at the Eden Valley Community Center, 4039 Hwy. 191. For more information or to RSVP contact the Wyoming Business Council’s Donn Randall at (307)777-6578 or by email at donn.randall@wyo.gov. Registration is free.
Several guest will be giving presentations on a variety of things. Dr. Anowar Islam of the University of Wyoming will present on forage production and management. He will speak on forage fertility, weed management, Lander alfalfa, Laramie medic and feed pea along with Hay production economics.
Donn Randall, WBC Agribusiness Division will talk about marketing opportunities including new potential Wyoming Hay Markets and yield vs. quality decisions to maximize forage income.
Along with the presentations, residents will also be able to see the latest in machinery. Agri-King will have a presentation on forage and grain treatment program and be having Silo-king and product demonstrations.
Brown Company will be demonstrating tractor, sickle and disc swathers as well as Trible/CNH guidance displays and NH balers.
Covolo will be demonstrating the kuhn baler, while a regional representative will speak on forage quality.
Nexgrow will be showing a new alfalfa brand equipped to deliver the traits and technology you need now and in the future.
Statz Equipment will be demonstrating haying equipment.
