COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  – Seven individuals and three relay teams from the Wyoming women’s swimming and diving program were named to the All-Mountain West Team, the conference announced yesterday. Sophomore Isobel Ryan earned the most of any Cowgirl with three individual honors and all three relay honors.

Senior Danielle Badger made the All-MW Team in the 50 freestyle, the first all-conference award of her career. Senior Keely Bishop was tabbed for both the 1-meter and platform. It’s her second honor in the 1-meter and third in the platform. Sophomore Samantha Burke’s spot on the 100 backstroke team is the first of her Cowgirl career. Freshman Karla Contreras made the all-conference team in each of the three diving events.

Junior Maria Harutjunjan was named All-MW in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, after sweeping both events at the MW Championships. Ryan earned conference honors in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and the 100 backstroke with Burke. Ryan made the All-MW Team in each of the three events in 2016, as well. Junior Kelly Sheldon also earned three conference honors, in the 200 and 500 freestyle along with the 200 backstroke. It is her second time making the All-MW team in the 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle, and her first in the 200 freestyle.

Three Wyoming relay teams earned All-MW honors, the most since 2013. The 200 freestyle relay team was comprised of Ryan, Badger, Burke and senior Rachel McKivigan. The 200 medley relay team was led by Ryan, Harutjunjan, Burke and Badger. The 400 medley relay squad included the same group of Ryan, Harutjunjan, Burke and Badger.
