Evanston Veteran’s Home Vandalized

EVANSTON — In the early morning hours on Sunday May 17, 2015, the Evanston Police Department Officers responded to an incident of vandalism to a military person’s residence. Upon arrival, the Officers observed the residence had been spray painted with black spray paint. There were several obscene phrases which included “home of a soilder”, “(expletive) the Military” and “(expletive) Die for what?”. The investigating Officers searched the area and followed several leads however, they were unable to locate the persons involved.

Later the same morning, the victim contacted the Police Department and she believed the vandals had returned to her apartment. The Officers returned and found someone had returned to the residence approximately an hour later and they had corrected both of the mis-spellings in the word “soldier” in the original vandalism. This case is remaining as an active investigation with the Evanston Police Department until the suspect(s) can be located and charged.
