Faster Internet Service Will Be Addressed at the BAC Meeting in Lander

LANDER — The Wyoming Legislature is encouraging the public to attend or watch via Facebook Live the first ever Broadband Advisory Council meeting on the Wyoming Business Council’s Facebook page.

The council will hold a public meeting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge, 150 E. Main St., in Lander.

The Wyoming Legislature created the Advisory Council during its 2018 session to expand broadband opportunities to areas of the state with limited options or slower than satisfactory speeds.

Members of the council provide advice and recommendations to the Wyoming Business Council, the state’s economic development agency, to aid in taking inventory of current broadband availability, developing best practices for efficiently expanding broadband services, and ensuring state and local policies are conducive to the development of broadband services.

The broadband enhancement plan is currently available at www.wyomingbusiness.org/ broadband, or by clicking here, for public review until Aug. 20.

A final plan is due to the Legislature and the Economically Needed Diversity Options for Wyoming executive Council by Sept. 1.
