Governor Mead to Speak at Worker’s Memorial Day Event

CHEYENNE — The fourth annual Wyoming Workers’ Memorial Day sponsored by the Equality State Policy Center, SAFER hosted by the Spence Association for Employee Rights, Wyoming State AFL-CIO, Wyoming Trial Lawyers’ Association, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, and the Wyoming Trial Lawyers’ Association.

According to organizers, “Workers’ Memorial Day is an international day of commemoration of workers who have been killed or injured in the workplace. Families, community members, state leaders, policy makers, union members and workers will come together to remember those we have lost and to renew our commitment to improving workplace safety in Wyoming.”

In addition to a ceremony honoring lost workers, Gov. Matt Mead, House Minority Leader Mary Throne, recent widow Mrs. Cathy Jordan of Worland, and Wyoming State Epidemiologist Meredith Towle will speak.

The event will take place at the Rotunda of the Wyoming Capitol at 10:00 a.m. April 28th.
