Green River Fire Department Stops Bush Fire at Scotts Bottom

GREEN RIVER — The Green River Volunteer Fire Department stopped a brush fire from getting out of control Friday afternoon at the Scotts Bottom nature area near FMC Park.

Firefighters were dispatched at 2:14 pm Friday afternoon to a small wildfire that was spreading quickly.

Assistant Fire Chief Bill Robinson said the department responded with Engine 2 and seven firefighters.  He added that the fire was extinguished promptly with no injuries.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. 

Robinson said the department wants to thank the Green River Police Department and Castle Rock Ambulance for their continued support when dispatched to a call.
