ROCK SPRINGS – The City of Rock Springs Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the 16th Annual “Wind & Mud Classic” Co–ed Hockey Tournament this weekend. Games will be played Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Ice Arena at the Family Recreation Center.
Co–ed hockey teams from Wyoming, Colorado and Utah will vie for the title. Athletes playing in the tournament will range from thirteen years old to adult with skill levels from beginner to advanced. There is no charge for spectators to watch the games.
“The Emphasis is on the recreational aspect of the game,” said Ken Reed, Ice Arena Manager. “This tournament is a good way for us to promote an interest in hockey and our facility, too. It also brings visitors to Sweetwater County.”
Reed said the Sweetwater County Joint Travel & Tourism Board is helping sponsor the tournament by providing a grant to the city.
