ROCK SPRINGS – Looking for that unique holiday gift? You might want to check out the Home and Holiday Show this weekend at the Sweetwater County Events Complex.
This is the third year the complex has invited local and regional vendors to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase holiday ideas. The excitement kicks off Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Weekend hours include 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Close to 100 vendors will bring cookware, toys, clothing, jewelry, crafts and home accessories for residents to check out. While the vendors will of course be the main attraction, there will also be several other events taking place.
While the event is free and open to the public, Event Coordinator Debi Thomas Knezovich said they are asking for people to bring a new toy or a non-perishable canned food item. For one canned food, a person will receive one ticket, for a toy a person will receive six tickets. The more canned food items, the more tickets a person will receive.
These tickets will go to raffles they will have on both Saturday and Sunday for $500 each day. The food will go to the Rock Springs Food Bank in time for the holiday need. The toys will go Pilot Butte Elementary who last year helped over twenty families on Christmas.
Santa Claus will also be greeting the youngsters throughout the event. Also six children will also be given a gift basket full of toys and candy worth a couple hundred dollars.
Another special event will be a knife made by David Yellowhorse will be raffled off. The money raised from the raffle will go to benefit the family of Chris Stassinos.
