ROCK SPRINGS — The committee organizing the annual International Day event has announced a last minute change in the entertainment line-up. Due to a family emergency, the OPA Greek Dancers will not be able to perform this year. In their place the Malialole will be performing.
Malialole’s (MAH-lee-yah-low-lay) mission is to perpetuate the Polynesian Culture through song and dance while promoting cultural awareness of all Pacific Island People. They have performed all around the United States and have even had the privilege of teaching music and dance to schools in Hawaii. They teach throughout the Salt Lake valley in many of the elementary, middle and high schools. Malialole will open your mind and hearts while letting the persuasive beauty of tropical island dance and music take hold of you. With a warm and humbled heart, they say “ALOHA.”
International Day is set for THIS SATURDAY, July 11, in Bunning Park and features a wide range of local, regional, and international entertainment, activities for kids, exotic foods and unique vendor items.
