Did you know it is illegal to pass a stopped school bus from either direction when the lights are flashing?

ROCK SPRINGS – With school back in session the Rock Springs Police Department is reminding everyone that it is illegal to pass a stopped school bus from either direction when it has its red lights flashing.

The Rock Springs Police Department would like to ensure all children make it to school and back home safely. Please stop for all school buses displaying flashing red lights.

      The driver of a vehicle upon meeting or overtaking from either direction any stopped school bus shall stop before reaching the school bus when there is in operation on the school bus the flashing red lights as specified in W.S. 31-5-929 and the driver shall not proceed until the school bus resumes motion or the flashing red lights are no longer actuated.
