Law Enforcement Agencies to Carry Flame of Hope on Saturday

SWEETWATER COUNTY — On Saturday, May 2, 2015 members of Sweetwater Law Enforcement Agencies will come together to carry the “Flame of Hope” for Special Olympics 2015 Summer Games. The torch will start in Green River, WY at 8:00 am, and be carried along I-80 by members of the Green River Police Department and Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office to Cruel Jacks where it will be handed off to Rock Springs Police Department participants who will meet and carry the torch through town and end the run at Bunning Park,

The “Flame of Hope” is passed from one law enforcement agency to the next throughout the state of Wyoming. The run is a kick off to the Summer Games, which will be hosted in Laramie, WY beginning on May 2, 2015.

The 2014 Sweetwater County event was a success and raised donations in the amount of $1,400.00. I would like to double the donation amount this year! At this time Sweetwater Law Enforcement Agencies will begin collecting donations and selling short and long sleeve shirts, hats and pins.
