
SWEETWATER COUNTY – Put on your Cat in the Hat hat and get ready to celebrate reading at your local libraries.
In honor of the upcoming birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss, the Sweetwater County Library in Green River, and Rock Springs Library and White Mountain Library in Rock Springs are all hosting Dr. Seuss parties. The Sweetwater County Library is kicking off the celebrations with a party from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The party at White Mountain Library will be from 4 to 5 p.m. on March 2 and the party at Rock Springs Library will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on March 3.
All three parties will feature games and activities designed for school-age kids surrounding Dr. Seuss stories. The libraries host the Dr. Seuss parties to help encourage reading and to in celebration of Read Across America Week. Read Across America Week is an annual reading awareness campaign sponsored by the National Education Association. It encourages all children to celebrate reading on March 2, which is the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
