Logan Wilson Drafted to Cincinnati Bengals

Logan Wilson will be heading to the Bengals to begin his NFL career.

LARAMIE — Former University of Wyoming linebacker Logan Wilson heard his named called by NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell on Friday night. Wilson was selected by the Cincinnati Benglas as the first pick of the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Wilson will add his talents to a Bengals roster that is rebuilding. The UW star will join national champion quarterback Joe Burrow, who was selected first overall in this year’s draft.

Wilson’s skills will bulk up a Bengals defense that was ranked 29th best in the NFL last season. His ability to play sideline to sideline will indefinitely help Cincinnati in a tough AFC North division that will see Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson twice a year.

During Wilson’s four years with the Pokes, he racked up 249 solo tackles, seven sacks and 10 interceptions during his career. In 2019, he was nominated as one of six finalists for the Butkus Award, which recognizes the best linebackers in college football.

Wilson is the first player drafted from Wyoming in the 2020 NFL Draft.
