ROCK SPRINGS – The Memorial Hospital Foundation received a donation of paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, and other toiletries along with $250 for the Waldner Healing House. After hearing about the Healing House, the 4H shooters decided to dedicate their community project to assisting with the basic needs of the house which will soon serve patients who travel to Rock Springs to receive treatment at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, the Sweetwater Regional Cancer Center, and the Medical Office Building.
Announced earlier this year at the Foundation’s Red Tie Gala, the Foundation recently purchased a house with the help of a significant donation from the Waldner family, a family residing out of Wamsutter. As part of the announcement, Emma Waldner explained “when our son received his treatment for cancer, he wished that he could have stayed at home instead of having to travel for treatment. It was his wish that people who travel for any type of treatment be able to stay somewhere like home.”
The Foundation will be announcing the date of an open house soon and shortly after, the Waldner Healing House will open and be available for patients. For more information on the Waldner Healing House, contact the Memorial Hospital Foundation at 307.352.8234.
