SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Memorial Hospital Foundation is excited to announce a new addition to the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center. Earlier in the year, the Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Williams Corporation to purchase a new treadmill.

This donation was instigated by one of Williams’ employees who utilizes the Cardiac and Rehabilitation Center. “Williams is all about energizing the communities we are in and what better way than helping Sweetwater County residents stay healthy with a new treadmill,” said Pete Torres, the Manager of Operations for Williams.

Before receiving this donation, The Cardiac and Rehabilitation Center had two treadmills constantly in use.

This donation will allow us to provide an additional exercise resource to our patients without having to delay their rehabilitation by waiting for their turn on a treadmill,” noted Patty O’Lexey, the Director of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

It’s an exciting time for us as we continue to see our facility grow due to the support and thoughtfulness of our patients and their dedication to see and help us grow.”

Earlier in the year, Williams’ Public Outreach Business Partner Barbara Hasbini visited Memorial Hospital and toured the Cardiac and Rehabilitation Center.

“The facility is very warm and welcoming and it’s obvious that the staff cares about their patients,” Mrs. Hasbini noted as she toured the facility.

“It was a great visit and a very touching experience for everyone involved. We are so grateful for the donation from Williams Corporation, that Mrs. Hasbini was able to visit us from Oklahoma, and most importantly, for our patients who want to help us improve the facility,” the Foundation Director, Tiffany Marshall noted.

The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center is located on the ground level of the Medical Office Building and provides treatment to over 20 Cardiac and Pulmonary patients a day. The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is a patient driven program featuring individualized care plans based on each patient’s diagnosis, medications, current physical conditions, and physician’s recommendations.

Thankful to receive the donation, Mrs. Marshall also added, “this donation is not surprising for a team who works so hard to ensure the best patient recovery possible. It’s great to see that our patients care as much about our team as the team does their patients.”
