COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — After a dramatic and entertaining day at the 2022 NJCAA Wrestling Championships, the Western Wyoming Community College (Western) Mustangs crowned seven wrestlers with All-American status.
The top eight wrestlers in each weight division are All-Americans. For the Mustangs, it was Garrett Ricks (125), Joseph Mecham (133), Caleb Nathan (141), River Wardle (149), Christian Smoot (174), Tyce Raddon (184) and Tyler Scheurn (197) earning All-American status.
Western also finished the day in the top five on the scoreboard. The team currently sits in fourth place with 80.5 points.

Thursday will feature the championship semifinals in the morning. Western’s Garrett Ricks (125), Caleb Nathan (141) and Tyce Raddon (184) made it through to the championship semifinals. Should they win, they will move on to the championship matches on Thursday night.
The rest of the team will compete in the consolation bracket. Joseph Mecham (133), River Wardle (149), Christian Smoot (174) and Tyler Scheurn (197) will each be eyeing to take home third place in the consolation bracket.
