ROCK SPRINGS – No major injuries were reported in a two-car collision on Dewar Drive Monday.

The accident happened Monday afternoon at the intersection of Dewar and College. According to RSPD Sgt. Steve Reekers, the driver of a 2010 Impala was exiting the Plaza Mall after the stop light turned green.

Reekers said a red, 2006 Nissan – driving on Dewar Drive – ran through the red light striking the Impala. The driver lost control of the vehicle and continued on hitting a tree.

First responders hit the scene and Reekers said those involved in the accident were treated and released with minor bumps and bruises.

The driver of the Nissan was cited for failure to stop at a red light. Reekers said drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the accident.
