Rock Springs City Council Recognizes Military Service

ROCK SPRINGS — At last night’s Rock Springs City Council two local men were honored for their military service.

Aaron Pacheco, serving in a U. S. Army, Infantry Division was honored. His wife, Karen Pacheco accepted on his behalf.

Thomas Gardner, serving in the U. S. Marine Corp was also honored, members of his family were in the audience for the event. Gardner just finished boot camp is finishing up a 10-day leave. Gardner said he is preparing to head to California for Marine combat training in California. He said when he finishes that he will then start training in communication.

“I am very excited,” he said.

Mayor Carl Demshar thanked Gardner and Pacheco for serving. He said it makes him feel good to see young military honorees serving and protecting the county.

“It’s because of what you folks do on a day-to-day basis that allows us to do what we do up here,” Demshar said.
