ROCK SPRINGS – The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency was awarded the “Awesome Main Street Program Award” for the first quarter of 2014 from the Wyoming Main Street Program. Wyoming Main Street selected the Rock Springs program based on their Downtown Dan and Feature Friday promotions that are highlighted on their Facebook page.

Downtown Dan was the URA’s Elf on a Shelf. Each day from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, he visited downtown businesses; posting a photo of his antics on the Rock Springs Main Street’s Facebook page. Downtown Dan highlighted downtown merchants along with a clue or two to his location. Facebook fans were then invited to guess his location for a chance at daily give-aways. Everyone playing along was also entered into the weekly drawings for $100 cash.

Feature Friday is a new program the Rock Springs Main Street/URA rolled out after the first of the year. The program takes an in-depth look at one downtown business each Friday and showcases them on the official Downtown Rock Springs Facebook page.
