Rock Springs Rotary Club Announce Outstanding Students

Bethany Christensen

Pictured are: Bethany Christensen, outstanding student in the middle, with her parents Neil and Marni Christensen. Bethany is in the CALC club too. She has lettered in basketball and tennis at high school. She plays flute, and violin and is member of the all state band. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Bethany and her parents made a quick trip to Boise Idaho for a class that JulliardSchool of Music was offering. Bethany plans to go to Boise State and major in performing music.

 

Skylar Corbett

Pictured are: Ms Flecther, Administration; Outstanding Student Skylar Corbett, and Robin Phillips, high school counselor. Skylar informed the Rotary membership that he come to Rock Springs High School from Evanston, Wyoming. In Evanston, he was big into robotics and enjoyed that a lot, but when he moved to Rock Springs the opportunities in robotics was limited. Skylar is in the Boy Scouts and has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is active in his church in youth activities. He really enjoys graphic design and likes to create things. He plans to go to WWCC and get his degree. He will also go on a mission for his church in the future.

August Prevedel

Pictured from left are: Michelle Prevedel, son August and husband Mike Prevedel. August was one of the outstanding students at Rotary today. August is a senior at Rock Springs High School, and stated is was an honored for him to be here today. He is an oboe player in the band for the past 6 years. He has also participated in speech and debate team for some 3 years. He is a member of the calc club. His plans are get an degree in Petroleum Engineering or possibly Chemical Engineering. Pursueing a medical career is a possibility too. He plans to go to WWCC and get his AA degree first.
