RSPD: juveniles vandalized Desert View Elementary, caught by observant parents

ROCK SPRINGS – On June 30, 2013, Central Dispatch  received a call concerning an alarm at Desert View Elementary School at 1900 Desert View Blvd. Once on scene, Rock Springs officers found that several exterior windows of the building were broken. Additionally, several classrooms had been vandalized with paint and numerous items were destroyed. Damages are estimated to be more than $10,000.

Officers quickly made contact with two juveniles, whose parents notified officers when they noticed paint residue on their children. The paint was the same variety used in the classroom vandalism.

The juveniles admitted to breaking into the school and vandalizing the classrooms. They were released to their parents. The names are withheld due to the suspects’ ages.
