A full moon is sometimes called “Blood Moon” since it appears with a reddish color and is safe to look at with the naked eye. This will be Wyoming’s first full lunar eclipse since January of 2019, according to the NWS.

Wyomingites who want to see the eclipse will want to either stay up late of get up early. The partial eclipse will start around 3:45 a.m. in the western horizon. It will be pretty low in the sky when it reaches totality around 5:10 a.m. For the best view, residents will want to get on top of a hill or mountain, according to the NWS.

Rock Springs should have a good chance to see the total eclipse based on the projected forecast for tomorrow morning.
