ROCK SPRINGS — The Sweetwater County School District #1 community will have an opportunity to voice its opinions about three different alternative school schedule options until 3 PM tomorrow afternoon.

Superintendent Kelly McGovern and Human Resources Director Nicole Bolton outlined the options during a virtual presentation yesterday evening citing that a new schedule would not go into effect until the 2021-2022 school year.

A task force of 48 people including school board members, administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and students narrowed a list of nine different options down to three over the past several months. Bolton said those three options were discussed and adjusted multiple times before being ready to present to the district.

“The task of this committee was to delve in and try to find schedules that would help accommodate the goals that were set by our Board of Trustees,” Bolton said.

The Options

Community feedback will close at 3 PM tomorrow. The task force will review the surveys beginning at 5 PM that same day, and a recommendation will then be made on Friday.

The Community Feedback and Staff Survey form can be found here. The Board of Trustees will conduct a special meeting on Tuesday, April 28 at 6 PM to discuss the recommendation.
