Take a look back in time as the 79th annual Green River Rendezvous gets underway in Pinedale on July 10

PINEDALE – Take a step back in time to when buckskin and beaver hats were all the rage. When tomahawks and black-powder rifles were the latest accessories. On July 10, one of the largest re-creations of the local rendezvous takes place in Pinedale.

Pinedale’s oldest and longest standing cultural event is enjoyed by visitors and locals alike. The four day celebration includes the Green River Rendezvous Pageant, in which local participants recreate an authentic rendezvous in full costume to give a lively, historical performance of this unique time in Pinedale and American history. Vendor Street Fair, Museum of the Mountain Man specialty tours and demonstrations, Kids Fishing Derby, “Spirit of the Winds” Fireworks Show, the Rendezvous Parade, nightly rodeos, live music, and Native American performances all make this Pinedale’s biggest summer event.

The event gets going on Thursday, July 10 and runs all day for the next four days. On Thursday at 9 a.m., street vendors and traders row official open. While music and demonstrations happen throughout the entire event, the rodeo starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday night. There is an admission charge of $5.

On Friday at 6:30 p.m. at American Legion Park, one of the highlights of the entire event happens as the WInd River Dancers perform. There is also a rodeo Friday night starting at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the 5K run gets started at 7 a.m. and the parade at 11 a.m. The Kids Fishing Derby starts at noon while the Wind River Dancers will have another performance at 1 p.m. The night wraps up with a fireworks show.

On Sunday, the 79th Annual Green River Rendezvous Pageant will get underway at 1 p.m. at the Pinedale Rodeo Grounds.
