GREEN RIVER – COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions can’t stop the Truman Elementary PTO from showing appreciation for their kids’ teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.
The Truman PTO put together goodie bags for the Truman teachers and stood outside the school on Tuesday and Wednesday to give them to the teachers to show their appreciation for the work teachers put into educating the community’s youth.
“The Truman Elementary PTO did this because we wanted to do something for the teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made things harder for everyone,” Casey Core, PTO member said.

The goodie bags contained a mixture of items from local business. Items included Fishbowl gift cards, Hitching Post gift cards, 15 percent off Tammy’s Cleaning Services, Mary Kay from Brenda Roosa, treats from Mike Frink at Sweetwater Trophies, Juice Plus items from Carol Kalivas, Scentsy items from Kellie Sprecher, shirts from Amy Cox, and pencil decorations from Alissa Davis (DavisDesigns307).
“This was a unique way to show teachers we care and we also wanted to help local businesses,” Core said.

It was important to the PTO to show their appreciation for educators, especially during this time of displacement.
“The teachers are working so hard during this time and it is hard for everyone, so we thought they needed something to show them how much we appreciate them and all that they do throughout the year, and especially now,” Core said.
