Two Treated for Injuries After Saturday Wagon Rollover

SWEETWATER COUNTY — An accident involving a horse drawn wagon injured two people, another two were sent to hospital for a checkup.

According to Committee President Jim Todd a wagon spoke shattered causing the wagon to roll over.

Nine members of the Red Desert Roundup Rodeo were riding in the wagon along with the owner who was driving and his son, both were riding up front.

The injuries reported included one person with a broken wrist and a second who suffered a torn rotator cuff and dislocated hip.

Todd said the incident was a freak accident and was not anyone’s fault, “Any event can have an accident, no one was at fault.”
