GREEN RIVER – As Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014 rumbles into town Tuesday May 6th, a piece of Green River history returns too. The Union Pacific Railroad is both the framework and inspiration for the City of Green River. Bisected by the UP mainline, generations grew up around the rails. The chuffing of the steam locomotives, and later the horns of diesels, have echoed from the bluffs above the town since the railroad arrived in 1868.

ROCK SPRINGS – Do you hear the whistle blowing? U.P. locomotive Big Boy 4014 is coming to Downtown Rock Springs on Tuesday, May 6. It’s anticipated to arrive at 7:30 p.m. and will overnight here, leaving at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7.
