FORT WAYNE, Indiana — The Western Wyoming Community College Wrestling Team took 3rd Place in the 2018 NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals today, otherwise known as “Mat Mayhem.”

The tournament took place February 4 and 5 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

“It’s always hard losing a match of that magnitude (semifinals) but you know, after I took off my coach’s hat and saw it from a different perspective, I was so pumped for them. It was a tremendous opportunity for our guys to get out here with the nation’s best and I was so proud of these guys watching them battle for two days. We were so gritty and tough and that is so exciting! They showed a ton of resiliency with their ability to bounce back and beat Iowa Western for third. It’s a big moment for our program and certainly a big step in the right direction.”
