Wyoming Highway Patrol Has Busy 4th of July Weekend

WYOMING — Wyoming State Troopers were busy over the Fourth of July holiday weekend throughout the state. From July 1st through July 4th, Troopers conducted 2,380 traffic stops. From those stops, 18 impaired drivers were arrested.

110 total crashes were investigated with one fatal crash that resulted in two deaths. 25 of the 110 crashes involved injury and 84 of the 110 involved property damage only. 290 motorists received assistance by Troopers over the weekend as well.

Troopers were primarily focused on identifying impaired drivers and other violations that impact highway safety such as nonuse of child and occupant restraints, speeding and other moving violations.

Dispatchers with the Wyoming Highway Patrol Dispatch Center also stayed very busy as they dispatched 3,697 events over the extended holiday weekend.
