Wyoming Law Enforcement To Carry ‘Flame of Hope’

SWEETWATER COUNTY – Law enforcement personnel from Sweetwater County will be carrying the “Flame of Hope” in their leg of the Wyoming Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Wyoming athletes.

The Green River Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run will begin May 13 at 8 a.m. at Car Quest in Green River and be passed to Rock Springs Law Enforcement at Cruel Jacks in Rock Springs at approximately 9:30 a.m.  The Special Olympics torch will be carried and passed from one law enforcement agency to another until it is delivered to the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Wyoming State Summer Games in Laramie on Thursday, May 18th, 2017.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics is the movement’s largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle, at its most basic level the Torch Run is an actual running event, in which officers and athletes run the Flame of Hope™ to the Opening Ceremonies of local Special Olympics competitions and State and National Games.
