As we’re being asked to limit our time in public, many of us are spending much more time at home than we’re used to.
With all of the negativity that’s floating about, we propose trying to get something positive out of the newly acquired down time.
Here’s how:
CLEAN

I could obviously compile a huge list of things you could devote time to cleaning, but i’ll let you get creative with it. ? Deep clean, de-clutter, organize. Having an orderly space is not just useful for sanitary purposes, but maintaining mental health too!
CATCH UP ON PODCASTS

Podcasts are awesome because they let you feel like you’re part of a conversation without being in a physical group of people. They’re also great for learning new things on-the-go (While cleaning even!)
Check out some of our favorites HERE.
WATCH A DOCUMENTARY

Sure, there are plenty of things you could watch to pass some time, but I suggest fitting in at least one documentary on a topic you don’t know enough about. Leisure + Learning is a great combo in my book.
EXERCISE

Get moving! Exercise is a great way to spend your time at home keeping your physical and mental health in tip-top shape. Check out this list of FREE AT HOME EXERCISES that includes everything from Yoga to Strength Training.
BOARD GAMES

Board games are the unsung hero of pre-internet entertainment. Pull out Monopoly, LIFE, Candy Land, or any of your other favorites and brush the dust off.
I bet you’ll be surprised at how much you enjoy some quality family game time.
TRY A NEW RECIPE

Use your downtime to try out a new recipe or 2 and you’ll be ready to impress with some tasty meals in the future. Some of my favorites to try come from the TASTY website.
This handy website even lets you search for recipes based on ingredients you already have at home.
Bon Appetit!
LEARN A NEW SKILL

Thanks to YouTube and well, the internet in general, it’s easier than ever to learn a new skill.
For example, I taught myself how to do the cup song from Pitch Perfect and i’ve never regretted it.
YARD WORK

If you’re like me, you put off the outdoor home tune-ups until Summer hits, which is an inevitably busy season when it’s difficult to fit it in.
Pulling weeds, raking gravel, and generally beautifying the outside of your home is an awesome to get you moving outdoors. Plus, you’ll free up some of those summer hours for a leisurely lay by the pool. ?
READ

Diving into a book is SO GOOD for your brain and mental stimulation.
Physical books not your style? We just so happen to have a full website full of interesting and useful reading content at your disposal 24/7.
NOTHING

Doing nothing seems counterintuitive when you’re trying to think of useful things to do, but the truth is many of us don’t do nothing often enough. There’s no harm in taking a bit of time to decompress, recharge and just be.
