CASPER – Even when school lets out and students are enjoying the warmth of summer, sports fans around the state have their pick of all-star events.
While most of these battles include players from all schools and all conference, there is one that is set aside just for the smaller schools. Each year, the best senior 6-man football players from Wyoming and Nebraska hit the field. This year, Neale Jones of Farson-Eden will stand among the best in the state.
Jones was recently picked to represent team Wyoming in the annual event. Jones was among the top ten this past season in 6-man in rushing, passing and all-purpose yards. He led the league in scoring averaging 23 points a game. He averaged 160 yards on the ground this season with 20 touchdowns and threw for right around 100 yards per game.
If a player cannot make the game, the Pronghorns could have two players on the field. Isaac Orozco was picked as an alternate for the big game.
Nebraska won its first game of the series last year beating Wyoming in Guernsey, 34-8. This year’s contest will be in the Cornhusker State. Wyoming leads the series, 3-1.
