ROCK SPRINGS — Sweetwater School District Number One received confirmation of two positive COVID-19 cases, one teacher at Pilot Butte Elementary and one student at Rock Springs High School.

With the new K-12 health orders, as long as the individual that has tested positive and anyone around that individual are both properly wearing masks, only the positive person will be quarantined and the others will be asked to monitor symptoms.

Due to masks not being worn during parts of the day while within six-feet of distance,12 staff members and 23 students from Pilot Butte Elementary, Rock Springs High School, and Black Butte High School are quarantined by order of Sweetwater County Public Health.

By following the State Health Orders for K-12 schools, quarantines due to being exposed to a positive individual can be prevented.
