ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs Tigers won big against the Laramie Plainsmen on Friday night 50-16.
Rock Springs scored 50 unanswered points, completely shutting down any hopes of a Laramie upset. It was a game the Tigers expected to win, and they did.
Here’s tonight’s postgame thoughts.

The Good Ones Dominate
If there’s one thing I took away from tonight’s game, it’s the fact that Rock Springs continues to back up the fact they are a good football team and are worthy of being the top ranked team in 4A.
The good teams dominate the games they are supposed to. Rock Springs did that tonight.
Laramie came into the game 0-5 desperate for a win. The Plainsmen tried nearly anything and everything in the first half to put some points on the board, including a 51-yard field goal attempt. However the Tigers defense proved yet again to be one of the best in the state. Laramie had six possessions in the first half, coming up with zero points and often punting on three and outs. It was an incredible defensive performance from Rock Springs.
Outside of the turnover on the opening drive for Rock Springs, the Tigers offense was just as efficient and effective as the defense. Quarterback Brock Bider threw for four touchdowns in the first half and bounced back after a tough outing last week against Natrona. When Bider plays well, this offense is nearly unstoppable. Rock Springs put up 43 points in the first half, scoring on six straight possessions. That’s a tough pill to swallow for any defense. Laramie happened to be tonight’s victim.
Rock Springs dominated and it was a firework show on both sides of the ball. From touchdowns to turnovers, this is exactly what we expected to see from the Tigers against a winless team.
Flack’s Game Ball ?
Tonight’s game ball obviously has to go out to the best player in the state in Isaac Schoenfeld.
Wyoming Cowboys head coach Craig Bohl was in attendance in Laramie to watch his future tight end. As a high school kid, I can imagine that brings some nerves.
But not for Schoenfeld. He was as cool as a cucumber. And the Tigers’ number one weapon balled out.
Bider found Schoenfeld for three touchdowns in the first half. The Plainsmen had no answer for the future Poke and I’m sure that brought a smile to many faces, inlcuding Bohl.
It was great to see Schoenfeld respond with a huge performance this week after seeing little action last week against Natrona.
So here’s your game ball. Take it to the house!

Come Out for Homecoming
Next week the Tigers will host Cheyenne South for their homecoming game. It will be important for the Tigers to use the game they are heavily favored to win to tighten up loose ends and really get their game where they want it as the playoffs inch closer.
I think one thing head coach Mark Lenhardt hopes to see in next week’s game is consistency from his team against an opponent similar to Laramie.
Come out and support. It’s sure to be the best show in town.
