Boys & Girls Club announce Little River Band for their 3rd annual benefit concert

Ticket sales are in full swing for the 3rd annual Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County benefit concert. This year, the Club is bringing in The Little River Band, the chart-topping group with classic hits such as “Reminiscing”, “Cool Change”, “Lonesome Loser” and many more.

2014poster_geohfoAfter growing out of their previous venue, this year’s Boys & Girls Club benefit concert will be held at the Sweetwater Events Complex (Main Tent) on Friday, Sept. 12 with gates opening at 6pm and the concert opening up at 7pm.

This annual benefit concert is the big fundraiser for the BGC (Boys & Girls Club) of Sweetwater County. The Club was created after a 2010 community impact study showed that after-school programs were in the top 3 of community needs. The Club has seen enormous growth since their beginning and takes care of around 300 youth over the year. In 2011, they received the Gateway for Impact award for being the 2nd fastest-growing Club in the BGCA (Boys & Girls Club Association) Southwest Region.

As the Club grows and matures, so do their members. In the next 12 months, the BGC of Sweetwater teen population will double from the mid-twenties into the forties.  All proceeds of this event go to the Club to help them grow and serve more local children and teens.
